Los Lobos, legendary rock band in Melbourne 20th April

Los Lobos one of the world’s most revered rock bands, began playing in the seventies and haven’t stopped since. Their career kick-started with the major label release ‘How will the wolf survive?’.

They have received numerous plaudits including a Grammy award for the track “Mariachi Suite” for the film Desperado (directed Robert Rodriguez, 1992). They also covered a number of Richie Valens’ numbers for the sound track of La Bamba (directed by Luis Valdez, 1987) as well as two Grammy Awards in the category of Best Mexican-American Performance in 1983 and 1989 for the song Anselma and the album La Pistola y El Corazon).

Los Lobos are still kicking it with the same passion they started out with and,  still writing and performing new material, unlike many of their ’70’s contemporaries who seem happy to relive their past.

Los Lobos are playing at the Prince Band  Room on Wednesday 2oth April.
